The Siege of Bruges and War in Flanders in 1127

This section examines the civil war that raged in Flanders in 1127, following the murder of its Count, Charles the Good.  There are several texts which give details of the events of 1127 and 1128, including the siege of Bruges.  For a complete introduction to this section, please read the introduction to the recently published book God’s Scribe: The Historiographical Art of Galbert of Bruges by Jeff Rider, which we have been able to republish here.
