General Information about De Re Militari

De Re Militari, the Society for Medieval Military History, is a professional non-profit association established to foster and develop interest in the study of pre-modern military affairs. To meet this goal, De Re Militari seeks to facilitate a greater exchange of information and ideas on pre-modern military affairs though lectures, forums, conferences, publications, discussion lists and internet access.  Our society was started in May of 1991, and over the years has grown to become the leading academic association on medieval military history.  We currently have over two hundred members, who  include professors, graduate students, publishers, and scholars interested in medieval and early modern warfare.
