Sylvia Schein We are sad to announce the death of Professor Sylvia Schein, who was a member of De Re Militari. Professor Schein was one of the leading scholars on the Crusader States, and has contributed important research on several topics. She received her Master's degree from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in 1973, and her PhD from Cambridge University in 1980. Her dissertation was titled, Europe and the Crusade 1291-1312, and was supervised by R.C. Smail. Her last post was at the University of Haifa.
